Did you know that your student ID or email address could help you make money? That’s right.
If you have a student ID or an email address that ends in.edu, you might be able to get some great deals in person or online.
Using the money you saved could give you more money to put toward your education, so you won’t have to borrow more than you need.
Here are 65 deals and discounts that you may be able to get just because you are in college.
Discounts can change at any time, so if you’re making a big purchase, be sure to check on them ahead of time.


A little bit of everything


Let’s start by doing some shopping in one place, shall we? You should check out two sites or apps that can save you a lot of time.

Before you go looking for discounts on your own, download the UNiDAYS app.If you do this, you can get discounts on everything from big-name tech products to big-name clothing brands.
StudentBeans is your one-stop shop for student discounts on clothes, tech, and healthy snacks. (Who doesn’t like inexpensive food?) You can create an account on your computer or on your phone.


Programs and technology

  • Many stores that sell technology have sales that could save you hundreds of dollars on expensive items.
  • If you buy new Apple products through their online education store, you can save money.
  • Students can save up to $400 on Apple products and get 20% off of AppleCare+. Apple Music is cheaper for students at the education store, and when you buy a Mac or iPad, you get 3 free months of Apple Arcade.
  • Have you got older Apple products lying around? You can save even more by trading them in.
  • If your program needs a PC, check out the student deals on Dell’s Dell University site. To get in, you must have a valid.edu email address.
  • You can also check out Microsoft’s student discounts. Students can get a number of deals, including the chance to get Office 365 for free.
  • Why do people need printers? College students can save money on HP products through the HP Student Store.
  • Best Buy has deals for students, too. Just sign up for student deals by creating an account. You’ll get online and in-store coupon codes in your email.
  • Students majoring in photography or design may want to save up to 60% on Adobe products.
  • Lenovo is offering discounts of up to 5% on their computers, such as laptops and tablets.
  • Students can sometimes get two lines from T-Mobile for $100.
  • AT&T sometimes gives discounts to students. Visit their discount site and enter your student email address to see if you qualify for any of their current deals.
  • Verizon gives discounts to students, but they don’t say it right away. Go to their page about discounts and scroll down to the bottom. Put your.edu email address in the “work address” field, and if you’re eligible, they’ll send you an email.


Clothes, shoes, and other stuff


  • Need to build a wardrobe for going back to school? A lot of stores, both online and in person, offer discounts to college students. (Hint: Before you buy something online, look for the store’s name and “student discount.” Deals like this are always changing, so don’t give up if the first URL you try doesn’t work. Before you pay at the store, ask if there are any deals.
  • You might be able to get 10–20% off your purchase at stores like these, which offer student discounts often (please note that the discounts listed below could change at any time):
  • ASOS: 10% off with a valid email for students
  • Banana Republic: 15% off in stores with a valid student ID.
  • With a StudentBeans account, you can save up to 50% at Boohoo.
  • Club Monaco: 15% off when you shop online with an email code or in-store with a valid ID.
  • Through UNiDAYS, you can save 20% on Dockers.
  • Express offers a 5% discount in-store and online if you have a UNIDAYS account.
  • If you have a UNiDAYS account, you can get 15% off at Forever 21.
  • 20% off at Frye if you have a UNiDAYS account.
  • Students and teachers with valid student ID can get 15% off at J. Crew when they shop online.

  • Get some retro accessories to spice up your dorm room. On certain days of the week, students can save between 10% and 20% at many Goodwill stores. Call the store near you to find out more.
  • Get six months of Amazon Prime for free and enjoy how easy it is to order online and how much Amazon has to offer. You’ll be able to get free two-day shipping on a lot of different items; it will be easy to send things back; and (bonus!) there will be a lot of free TV and movie streaming options.
  • On “student discount days,” college students with a valid student ID can get 20% off at JOANN, a store that sells fabrics and crafts. Visit your nearby shop.
  • Pottery Barn has everything you need if you need furniture for your dorm or apartment. Students who have a valid.edu email address or student ID receive a 15% discount.

The news, books, and magazines

  • Whether you want to save money on textbooks, current events, or classic literature, there are many ways to do so.
  • Use the Amazon discount above to buy a lot of books, whether you need them for school or just want to read for fun.
  • Barnes & Noble offers up to 80% off used and rented textbooks, as well as 40% off new textbooks. (They also have a program to buy back books you don’t need anymore.)
  • Students can subscribe to the New York Times for $1 a week, which is almost 75% less than the regular price.
  • You can get digital-only access to The Wall Street Journal for only $4 per month or $24 for the whole year. The price for a package that includes digital and print is only $10 per month.
  • Get a basic digital subscription to The Washington Post for $1 per week, followed by $5 per month. To be eligible, you must prove that you are a student.

On-the-go eating

  • Any store or restaurant is a good place to show your student ID. There are always deals on food, but they aren’t always easy to find.
  • When you show your student ID at these places, you can get a discount of up to 10% (at participating locations).
  • Arby’s
  • At Buffalo Wild Wings, if you spend $5 or more, you get a free “shareable” (for students from participating universities).
  • If you have a StudentBeans account, you can get a discount and coupon codes for Burger King.
  • Dairy King

  • Movies, plays, museums, or local attractions of any kind…Before you buy a ticket, you should always ask about student discounts. Many businesses offer special deals for students, but they don’t always advertise them.

Going on the road (or rails)

  • Do you travel a long way to school? Or maybe you just want to use your summer breaks to see more of the world… In any case, there are lots of deals for students.
  • At some Amtrak stations, you can save up to 25% when you ride the train. You can book them online or ask at a station near you.
  • If you are a student, you can save up to 10% on every fare with Greyhound’s Student Advantage program.
  • At Student Universe, you can get deals on flights, hotels, and tours if you are a student.
  • Travelosophy is a company that helps students find cheap, flexible flights.

Services for banking and money

  • College students can get free checking accounts and other deals from many banks.
  • If a student signs up for e-statements, the U.S. The bank will give them a free checking account with no regular fees.
  • Chase gives students who open an account a $100 bonus and free checking.
  • Students can get discounts from a number of insurance companies. If you’re no longer covered by your parent’s car insurance, check out Allstate, Geico, Farmers, and Nationwide to see if they offer student discounts of up to 20%.
