Everything You Need to Know About IELTS Test

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test for people who want to study abroad and want to see how well they can speak English. The main goal of the IELTS test is to find out how well students can use the English language in four basic ways: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

Since it started in 1989, the IELTS test has grown in popularity. IELTS scores are now used as the basis for English Language Testing by over 10,000 colleges, agencies, and other institutions in over 140 countries.

According to the IELTS website, in just one year, the number of people who took the IELTS test rose to 3.5 million. By itself, this number says a lot about how important the test is. The exam is recognized as a test of language skills needed to get into universities in countries where English is spoken.

In this blog, we’ll talk about different parts of the IELTS test, like how the papers are set up, how to study for it, what the best scores are, and much more. But first, let’s find out which countries take IELTS scores.

Countries That Will Accept IELTS Scores

All of the places where you can study abroad that speak English accept IELTS scores and let international students study there. Here are the most popular ones:

The United States of America
Great Britain
The country of New Zealand
At all of the above places, both undergraduate and graduate students can study abroad by taking the IELTS test.

IELTS Paper Pattern

The book is split into four parts: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. There is a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes to finish the test. The format of the academic IELTS test is as follows:

Students must listen to recordings of native English speakers and then write their answers based on what they hear. In this part, there are 40 questions, and you have 30 minutes to answer them.

Reading: In this part, students will be judged on how well they can read. In 60 minutes, they have to read three different passages and answer questions about each one. There will be 40 questions to answer in this section.

Writing: The purpose of the IELTS Writing section is to test a wide range of writing skills. Students have 60 minutes for this section, during which they have to answer two questions.

Speaking: In the speaking section, students have to talk with a certified examiner and are graded on four things: how well they speak, how much they know, how well they use words, and how well they say words.

The IELTS test is not that hard, but some of the questions can be tricky. So, it is a good idea to take mock tests.

Ideal IELTS Score

IELTS scores range from 1 to 9, and students get a band score for each of the above skills. Bands 7 to 9 are considered to be an ideal score because they show how well the student can use English. Students with scores below 5 won’t get into high-ranking universities, but students with these scores can get into average-ranking universities.

Plan for Preparing for the IELTS

The IETS test preparation strategy helps students do well on the IELTS Test and get high scores.
