US Reveals Education Plan for a World with a Lot of Connections

The US Department of Education just released an Education Plan for international education that aims to prepare students for a “hyper-connected world.” Under Secretary Miguel Cardona put out this strategy and said that its main goal is to deal with global problems.

He also said that the Education Strategy will focus on the “objective of becoming a country where diversity, global problems and opportunities, economic competitiveness, national security, and diplomacy are the reality.”

The main goals of the Education Strategy are to advance the U.S.’s international agenda and to improve the quality of education in the U.S. (US). In addition, the strategy will help students learn more about the world and other cultures, as well as take part in active education diplomacy and learn from other countries.

Jill Welch, Senior Policy Advisor at the Presidents’ Alliance, said, “It’s good to see the Department showing how it plans to focus on international education as part of its strategy to improve U.S. education and advance U.S. international priorities.”

The US Department of Education wants to achieve this goal by making bilateral connections with other countries and getting involved in more international projects. By taking part in these kinds of activities, the Department hopes to learn more about how education works in other countries and vice versa.

In this regard, the strategy says, “The department also takes part in reviewing and making declarations, resolutions, and reports.” Education diplomacy is an important part of US engagement that builds goodwill and gives a way for regular and positive engagement. ”

In order for the Department to achieve its goal of making US students more global and culturally competent, it trains people to become fluent in two languages and understand cultural differences better.

The goal is also to help students become creative and critical thinkers who can act professionally in situations that involve different cultures and understand different points of view.

The importance of diversity in international education is the focus of the second goal. Darla Deardoff, the Executive Director of AIEA, said, “The strong focus on increasing students’ global and cultural competencies as one of the three goals is crucial, now more than ever given the widening gaps between different groups of people, the serious humanitarian problems we face, and the global conflicts.”

International educators will also want to keep a close eye on the third goal, which is to learn with and from other countries in order to improve education in the US.
